At a press conference, Frank Leahy, general manager of the newly-nicknamed Los Angeles Chargers reiterated his team’s hope that a second west coast city be added to the AFL. He indicated Oakland as a possibility, adding that Stanford graduate and NFL legend Ernie Nevers was exploring options in the Bay Area, but that no stadium was yet available.
