  * Wide receiver [[Art Powell]] arrived at training camp, nine days late. Powell did not comment on the reason for his absence, though it was assumed it was related to his wife's desire to move to Toronto and Powell's request of a trade to [[Bills|Buffalo]]. General manager [[Al Davis]] said late arrivals by veteran players were not unusual, but that the team would fine Powell an undisclosed amount of money.
