AFL signing rights assigned. There was a story that he had signed with the Texans on January 7, but there was never a mention of that association again. Then stories appeared that he signed with the Cowboys in mid-April, adding uncertainty to the mix. In any event, beyond the assigning of his rights to Oakland at the time of the franchise's creation, there was no mention of him in conjunction with the team.
