Defensive lineman Dave Costa had recovered sufficiently from a preseason shoulder injury to be back in action against the Jets on the 10th. Middle linebacker Arch Matsos, who suffered a bruised thigh against the Bills on the 3rd, said he was ready to go again.

Halfback Billy Cannon pulled a leg muscle in practice and his status was uncertain for the Jets game.
