Coliseum, Inc., the entity in charge of building the new Oakland stadium set to open in 1966, agreed to buy 12,000 of the Frank Youell Field seats from the Oakland Recreation Department at a cost of $96,000 .The seats would be delivered to the new stadium in 1966. The Recreation Department was considering using the money to expand Frank Youell Field beyond the 4,100 seats already planned for 1964, possibly up to 6,000 additional seats.
