-  * NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle ruled that the rights to the services of rookie Arizona halfback [[Tony Lorick]] belonged to the Colts. Both the Raiders and the Colts drafted Lorick and both claimed to have signed him to a contract. Raiders general manager [[Al Davis]] argued that his team had signed Lorick first, but Rozelle was unmoved by the argument. Davis said the team “(did) not consider the matter closed.”
