The AFL fined rookie guard Richard Tyson $250 for not reporting to the College All-Star team for practice.

The team announced the signing of defensive back Willie Williams. The exact date of the signing was not revealed, but the original intent had been for Williams to play out his option with the Giants in 1966 and join the Raiders in 1967. When the Giants caught wind of the deal, they cut him, and the Raiders invited him to join them for training camp this season.
