• The team signed the following free agents sometime prior to this date: San Francisco State linebacker Don Briemle, Catawba tackle Bill Boschini, San Francisco State tight end Jim Callopy, Southern Oregon wide receiver Howard Hartman, Nebraska defensive back Warren Powers, Howard Payne tight end Roy Self, Oregon State halfback Bob Williams, Texas Tech tight end Bob Witucki, and Arizona State defensive end Earl Randolph.

• Guard Glen Hakes, who had been with the team last year in training camp and was cut just before the regular season, was also re-signed sometime during the off-season.
