General manager Al Davis denied a Chronicle story written by Stu Herman that the Raiders had offered Cal quarterback Craig Morton a contract with a total value between $125,000 and $200,000. Davis added that the team hadn't finalized their plans for the AFL draft coming up on the 28th and that Herman's story was completely untrue.
