• The coaches moved Dick Klein from defensive tackle to offensive tackle and Ollie Spencer from guard to tackle.
Transactions
• The team waived the following players: tackle Jack Stone, tackle Charles Brown, linebacker Charlie Rieves, wide receiver Dobie Craig, offensive lineman Dan Birdwell, defensive back Warren Powers, and fullback George Pierovich.
• Birdwell, Craig, Rieves, and Powers likely cleared waivers and were placed on the taxi squad soon after.
• The moves brought the roster count down to the league-mandated 33.
