The team signed Cal assistant trainer George Anderson to head up their training staff. Anderson would be with the team into the 1990s and was noted for, among other things, designing the Anderson Knee Stabler, a brace that would help keep quarterback Ken Stabler and his bad hinges on the field for a decade in the 1970s.
