News

• The team signed a three-year lease on a piece of land adjacent to the El Rancho Santa Rosa Hotel and Country Club in Santa Rosa where the Raiders would conduct training camp starting this summer.

• The owner of the hotel was to build two practice fields, enclosed by an eight-foot-high fence for privacy, and a fieldhouse containing a locker room, showers, training room, and an equipment room for a total cost of $50,000.

• The team also planned to occupy a set of meeting rooms at the hotel and put players up in rooms in the motel part of the facility.

• The Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted to approve the plan to build a new multi-purpose stadium in Oakland.

• Their vote, along with previous approval from the City of Oakland, was the last significant hurdle in the process and all that was needed now was the final approval from both bodies of specific construction details that would be presented by Stadium, Inc.
