Lineman Dan Birdwell, who had left the team two days ago for a family emergency, arrived in Denver prior to the game and played.

Quarterback Tom Flores was shaken up with three minutes left in the game and Cotton Davidson returned to finish the contest.

Guard Ken Rice and defensive back Loran Hunt missed the game because of prior injuries. Defensive tackle Dave Costa left the game with a shoulder injury.
