In the team's last ever game at Frank Youell Field, the Raiders beat the Jets 24-14. Despite the win, the Raiders were eliminated from contention for the Western Division crown when the Chargers beat the Oilers, 37-26.

Defensive back Kent McCloughan left the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. Howie Williams took his place in the lineup.

Fullback Alan Miller injured his elbow and left the game temporarily before returning.

Defensive tackle Dan Birdwell left the game after taking a blow to the head but eventually returned.
