The United Press International named their AFL all-star teams and included center Jim Otto and cornerback Dave Grayson among their first-teamers. Named to the second team were halfback Clem Daniels, guard Wayne Hawkins, wide receiver Art Powell, and defensive end Ben Davidson.

The Bears signed Tennessee State defensive tackle Franklin McRae, Oakland's seventh-round pick in the 1966 draft.
