The Big Story

Now that the only reasonable East Bay playing site had been ruled out, the team had no choice but to look to San Francisco for help. That meant either Kezar Stadium, the home of the 49ers, or Candlestick Park, newly-built home of the Giants. Robert Osborne's stated preference was for Candlestick, though no football had ever been played there.
