The Tribune reported that former Raiders defensive back Rich Mostardi was suing the team $6,195 in unpaid salary and an additional $2,150 in punitive damages. Mostardi, who played for the Raiders in several games in the 1962 season, said he had signed a contract in September 1961 for $8,600, but was injured shortly after and was released by the team in October. Mostardi asserted that he was only paid a little over $2,000 and was owed the remainder of the money.
Santa Rosa radio broadcaster Dan Galvin was hired to join Bob Blum on Raiders game broadcasts as the color commentator.
