After days of speculation, Wes Fry was named acting general manager following the resignation of Bud Hastings. Ed Walls, a team accountant, was named the new business manager. Fry would continue to head up the player personnel department.

Co-owner Robert Osborne said recent rumors that the team would move to Portland were “completely unfounded.”

The coaching staff moved tackle Jim Brewington to the defensive line.
