News

  • Middle linebacker Arch Matsos was still in the hospital recuperating from a respiratory infection, but was expected to be released tomorrow and could possibly play in the final preseason game on the 5th against the Chargers.

Injury Updates

  • Guard Bob Mischak (knee) was also expected to be able to go against San Diego.

Transactions

  • Wide receiver Reg Carolan was traded to the Chiefs in exchange for the signing rights to one player released by the Cardinals or Bears in the NFL. Per a league agreement, each AFL team was given the right of first refusal of players released by particular NFL teams–in the Chiefs case, the Cards or Bears. According to the terms of the Carolan trade, the Raiders were given that right for a single player of their choice.
