The Raiders waived cornerback Jim McMillin.

Five players sat out practice with various minor ailments: wide receiver Art Powell (knee), wide receiver Bo Roberson (pulled leg muscle), wide receiver Bill Miller (knee), defensive back Warren Powers (pulled thigh muscle), and middle linebacker Arch Matsos (illness). Powell and Roberson were expected to be good to go for the Oilers game on the 19th. The status of Powers, Miller, and Matsos was less certain.
