The Raiders released placekicker/punter Mike Mercer and replaced him by signing Mike Eischeid. Eischeid had spent some time with the Bears and the Vikings on their taxi squads, but had yet to perform in a regular season pro game.

Wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff and defensive back Joe Krakoski were both back at practice after missing some time following injuries in last week's game against the Oilers.
