In the final regular season game for both teams, the Chargers beat the Raiders, 24-14, in San Diego. the Raiders finished the year in second place in the Western Division with an 8-5-1 record.

The Newspaper Enterprise Association named their AFL all-star teams. Center Jim Otto, guard Wayne Hawkins, and cornerback Dave Grayson were named to the first team. On the second team were halfback Clem Daniels, wide receiver Art Powell, and defensive end Ben Davidson.
