The California State Senate unanimously approved a resolution that “urged” the University of California Board of Regents to permit the new team to play in Memorial Stadium. The regents had recently reaffirmed their opposition to any pro use of the stadium. The State Assembly reviewed a similar measure in the evening, but adjourned for the day before voting. (ot)
