The city of Hayward said they planned to put a measure on the April ballot changing the city charter to allow the city to sell revenue bonds “for recreational purposes”, that is, to build a multi-purpose stadium. The actual sale of bonds would require further approvals. (ot)

The State Assembly decided to send a measure urging the University of California Board of Regents to allow professional play in Memorial Stadium to a rules committee for review. Further consideration would resume on the 29th. (ot)
