In an echo of yesterday's story that the team was interested in halfback Hugh McElhenny, today's rumor was that the team was looking to sign former Cal quarterback Joe Kapp. Kapp had been the subject of similar rumors last season, but he was under contract to Calgary in the CFL and the AFL's rule against tampering applied to the CFL as well as the NFL.
