News

The Oakland city council approved a plan to relocate and expand Exposition Field at an estimated cost of $340,000. The expansion would increase the stadium’s attendance to 23,100 and was projected to be complete by August 1962, in time for the Raiders to play there next season. The Raiders would be on the hook to sign a two-year lease, paying $2,500 per game or 10% of the gross ticket sales, and would pay for the construction of a press box.
