News

The Raiders beat the Patriots, 30-21, at Frank Youell Field.

Oakland quarterback Tom Flores left the game in the first quarter after taking a blow to the head. Dick Wood, his replacement, twisted his knee during the contest but did not leave.

Rookie wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff made his Raiders debut, catching seven passes for 118 yards.

Transactions

Prior to the game, the team placed quarterback Cotton Davidson on the injured deferred list and activated defensive tackle John Diehl. Diehl had been released by the Cowboys in late September and had been signed by the Raiders sometime between September 25 and this date.

Injury Updates

Tight end Billy Cannon left the game in the first quarter with a pulled hamstring and cornerback Kent McCloughan left the fourth quarter with thigh and shoulder bruises.
